Description

YuGuard-9IWS self-adhered roofing underlayment is a premier membrane composed of two waterproofing materials: an aggressive rubberized asphalt adhesive backed by a layer of slip-resistant coated high-performance modified polyethylene film. The rubberized asphalt surface is protected by a foldless release liner that preserves its adhesive quality. During application, the release liner is easily removed, enabling the rubberized asphalt to form a tight bond with the roof deck. It is specifically designed for waterproofing protection on sloped roof applications subjected to the effects of ice damming and wind driven rain.

Application Instructions

· Substrate preparation: The substrate should be solid, flat and dry, clean, no sand, dust and oil, uneven andvcracks should be repaired by high-grade polymer mortar, before construction should be inspected andvaccepted, clean and sweep after meeting the requirements, if necessary, with vacuum cleaner or high pressure dust blower blow.

· Brush primer: before laying the membrane, the primer should be brushed, and the brush should evenly and completely cover all parts of the membrane to be pasted, without leakage and accumulation.

· Detailed construction: After the primer is dried, the parts that need to be waterproof reinforced layer are processed in accordance with the relevant specifications or design requirements. The details that are not easy to paste should be assisted by blowtorch or other heating equipment for auxiliary heating construction. The general part of the membrane reinforcement layer should be fully adhered to the base, the stress concentration part should be empty according to the code.

· Paving waterproof membrane:

Horizontal plane: After the primer is dry, the line should be elastic in time and the first membrane pre-lay, fully release the stress, and then lay the membrane. When pasting, the starting end should be fixed and then gradually spread out, and the isolation material should be unwrapped while unfolding. The Angle of film tearing should be kept parallel with the base, and the laying should be from low to high.

Vertical plane: Membrane and substrate, membrane and membrane are constructed by full bonding method. The end of the facade membrane should be fixed with metal batten first, and then closed with the membrane sealing paste.

· Construction of protective isolation layer: After the membrane is finished and inspected, the surface of the waterproof layer should be cleaned, protective measures should be taken for the waterproof layer and waterproof protective layer construction should be carried out according to the design requirements. An isolation layer is arranged between the waterproof layer of the membrane and the rigid protection, and the isolation layer material can be low-quality asphalt membrane, plastic film, paper reinforcement ash, etc.

Scope of Application

It is a multi-purpose underlayment material that may be used on sloped roofs, under mechanically attached roof coverings such as asphalt shingles, slate, tile, cedar, and standing seam metal in many climate and assembly conditions.
