Description

PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe is a composite material pipe formed by melt compounding, where polyethylene serves as the matrix, and a mesh skeleton—made of steel wires coated with adhesive resin and wound in continuous left-right spirals—acts as the reinforcement. The adhesive resin tightly bonds the reinforcement and matrix into a unified structure. This product is also known as SRTP (Steel Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe). Combining high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, the PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe offers both high pressure resistance and excellent flexibility. It retains the stability of metal pipes while maintaining the hygienic properties of plastic pipes, ensuring technical reliability and a long service life.

Specifications

Features & Benefits

1. Structural AdvantagesThe product is composed of a composite of steel wire and plastic, which effectively mitigates the rapid crack propagation issue inherent in plastic materials, thereby enhancing overall safety.

2. Superior Pressure ResistanceIt exhibits exceptional pressure-bearing capacity and creep resistance, with a maximum pressure rating of up to 3.5 MPa, significantly outperforming conventional plastic pipes.

3. Lightweight, Easy Handling & InstallationCompared to standard PE plastic pipes of the same grade, the wall thickness is substantially reduced, and the weight is significantly lighter, simplifying transportation, handling, and installation.

4. Built-in TraceabilityThe embedded steel wire allows the pipe to be easily detected by metal detectors, facilitating future excavation, maintenance, and construction activities involving other pipelines.

5. Extended Service LifeThe rate of performance degradation is slower than that of ordinary PE pipes, granting the PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe a longer operational lifespan.

Scope of Application

1. Outdoor Fire Protection Networks

Outdoor fire protection is the primary application field for PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe. These pipes offer high pressure-bearing capacity, easy installation, and require no external anti-corrosion treatment.

2. Municipal Engineering

PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe can also replace conventional PE water supply pipes in municipal water supply and drinking water transportation systems.

3. Mining and Smelting Industries

With excellent corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and high pressure-bearing capacity, these pipes are suitable for transporting ores, slurries, and corrosive media in mining applications.

4. Chemical Industry

They are used for transporting corrosive liquids in chemical manufacturing, textile, and ignition industries.

5. Oil and Gas Fields

The built-in traceability feature and ability to conduct static electricity make PE Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe suitable for long-distance transportation of petroleum, natural gas, and similar materials.

FAQ
  • Q1: What are the recommended fusion welding temperatures for PE and PP-R pipes?
What are the recommended fusion welding temperatures for PE and PP-R pipes?
  • Q2: What are the maximum service temperatures and pressures for PE and PP-R pipes in water supply systems?
"PE pipes have a maximum service temperature of 40°C and a pressure rating of 1.6 MPa. PP-R pipes have a maximum service temperature of 70°C and a pressure rating of 1.0 MPa"
  • Q3: What are the available pressure ratings for PE pipes, and which are the most commonly used?
"PE pipes are available in eight pressure ratings, ranging from PN0.4 to PN2.0. The most commonly used ratings are: PN0.6, PN0.8, PN1.0, PN1.25, and PN1.6."
  • Q4: What are the standard pipe lengths for PE pipes, and how can the length be customized?
"PE pipes are supplied in both coils and straight lengths. Coiled pipes are typically supplied in 100-meter rolls. Straight pipes are generally 6 meters per length. Customized lengths are also available upon request, such as 9 meters or 12 meters per coil, depending on customer requirements."
  • Q5: What types of PE fittings are available, and how should they be selected?
"There are three main types of PE fittings: Socket fusion fittings (recommended for sizes DN20 to DN110) Butt fusion fittings (commonly used for sizes above DN110) Electrofusion fittings, which are commonly used in standard water supply systems and are typically applied in maintenance and repair scenarios."
